A friend told me about a cool opportunity to get published! It's called 100 Illustrations, My Favorite Food. It's free to participate, and you could be in their new book. I thought immediately of what food I wanted to illustrate.
A Savannah Jewish Festival pastrami on rye sandwich.
The people making the food put so much love into their sandwiches; you could just taste the difference. They cooked the pastrami with their generational recipes, homemade their yellow mustard, and of course the sandwich wouldn’t have been complete without the tastiest dill pickle I had ever had!
I tried to convey the unique nature of the Savannah pastrami sandwich, along with the fun you have while enjoying with friends on a beautiful day!

A dear friend of mine asked me to design her a business card over the holidays. I was delighted to help her, and she explained to me she wanted a very personable business card to promote her upcoming career in fashion merchandising and management. From what I understood, this career has many different avenues within it, so we decided to just have a simple image with elegant type. I think this card is sweet, genuine, yet fun - much like my friend! :)

I had the opportunity to illustrate an article for the December issue of Charleston Magazine! The article was about the joy of participating in oyster roasts, and was written by the Lee brothers who are from Charleston. I finally got to see the magazine in person 2 or 3 weeks after the publication came out! All the local vendors who sell the magazine said the representative had not been by to drop off the December issue. These vendors expected to see me or hear from me every few days to check in. This is the first time I have been published, so I was quite eager to see it! After doing some Christmas shopping I stopped by the bookstore. I went to the magazine section, and checked the rack......and there it was! Hidden behind several other publication titles. Alas, I finally got my little hands on the magazine. I was very happy with the outcome of the layout as well.

This illustration is for the Colonel Windpipe marching band project. I had so much fun designing characters for this assignment. In the beginning I went overboard and really had to narrow down my favorite characters. These guys made the cut :)

These are some preliminary sketches of character designs for a mock childrens book I am currently working on. Also a test illustration done in watercolor for one of the spreads for the book. The book is about crocodiles in particular.
