Nemo!

The latest challenge for Square Carousel was about your favorite movie. Mine has to be Finding Nemo. I just love this movie along with many other pixar films. I painted Marlin, Nemo and Squirt with guache, and the background is painted with watercolor.

Tinsel Town

While decorating the Christmas tree this year, I ran into a piece of paper. So... I read it. It was a charming little German legend of how garland came about. One Christmas a woman chased the spiders of her home into her attic (If only it were that simple.) Later that night the curious spiders saw the beautiful tree and started spinning webs to make it even more beautiful. When Santa saw the tree he turned the spider webs into gold and silver to keep the woman's feelings from being hurt by the spiders.

Merry Christmas!

Fibery Flurry

I am making snow globes!! Well, waterless snowglobes. I love going to garage sales, and I found a couple of nice jarss to use as the container, and several little trees for inside. For the snow I am using tons of neat things. Several things: scrap peices of paper from my business cards (which is a really nice shimmery green), old metro tickets from the subways in Paris, French stamps, gold foil, and who knows what else. I'm really looking forward to putting these together, and having some nostaligic peices of my own hanging around for the holidays :)
